If you have answered -yes- to all three questions then there is no doubt, from the point of view expressed on the mission statement of this site, that you are a Metis person.

We hope you will contribute to the celebration of our Metis heritage and share your experiences to help guide those who are unable, at the present time, but may want to answer yes to the questions in this little poll. There are those, however, who would still deny your right to identify yourself as a Metis person.

You may already be aware that there are some individuals, organizations and Metis leaders who want to restrict the use of the term Metis either to the prairie provinces, or to members of organizations associated with the Metis National Council. We hope you will join us in resisting those who are trying to create a kind of status Metis population by excluding those from other parts of Canada, or those who are not represented by the Metis National Council.

If you answered -no- to the first question and -yes- to this question, we would have to assume you were either adopted or married into a Metis community. The same would be true if you answered -no- to the second question. In either case we would like to hear from you about how that situations works in your life so that others might learn from your experience. It is difficult to imagine that anyone could answer -no- to the first and second question and still answer -yes- to this one. But if that is the case in your life, we certainly would like to hear how that works.
