February, 2002
To Whom It May Concern:

Given the length and complexityof the attached resume, I am writing this single page overview of my skillsand experience to facilitate any managerial review of my suitability forany given position, contract or project.

First and foremost, I am a communicatorin the context of the presentation of Aboriginal perspectives to governmentbodies and agencies, conferences, meetings, groups, universities, schools, the media and the public. Secondly, I am an author, writer, and editorwith highly developed skills in the articulation of raw information, researchdata, or policy options, into forms and formats most suitable to clientgoals and needs. Thirdly, I am a researcher and research manager with aparticular talent for the development of consultation processes designedto identify and communicate Aboriginal perspectives on a wide range ofsubjects and issues.

Given these skills, it should benoted that they have been applied mainly, but not exclusively, in the areasof Aboriginal claims, Aboriginal self-government, and constitutional reformon Aboriginal issues as they relate to off-reserve Aboriginal peoples. In recent years I have developed considerable expertise in Aboriginal rightsissues as they apply to Métis peoples.

The product of these skills andexperience has been both diverse and prolific. In addition to two publishedbooks and a dozen magazines, my output has included many major speechesand hundreds of press releases for Aboriginal leaders, policy analysisof Aboriginal legislation of both levels of government and several Aboriginalorganizations, and national consultation reports on claims, self-government,Aboriginal language, archaeology, and constitutional issues.  Manyof these products were the results of national consultations developedfor government agencies and for Aboriginal
organizations.

I trust this general overview willbe helpful to you.

Sincerely,

Martin F. Dunn
