Although the initial materials provided in the The Other Metis are extracted primarily from the writing and research of Martin F. Dunn, other individuals and organizations are encouraged to submit materials or provide links they think would advance the understanding of Metis peoples and issues in North America. If you have materials you think would be a valuable addition to the site contact Martin Dunn at mfdunn@cyberus.ca.
I am very pleased to announce that four other information
providers are now contributing to The Other Métis site. They
are Claude Aubin and Duke
Redbird,
Laurie Beth Duffy
and Jean Morriset.
In keeping with the philosopy of the Other Métis --that you should know who is providing you with information-- photos and biographies will be provided as they become available.
Claude Aubin will be contributing materials related
to the Métis Nation in Quebec, and Duke Redbird's 1978 Master's
thesis "We are Metis" is presented in its
entirety elsewhere on this site. Laurie Beth Duffy is providing guidance
in the Native Genealogy section, and Professor Morriset presents his unique
analysis of Metis in the context of all of the Americas.
