To Whom It May Concern:

Given the length and complexity of my full resume, I am writing this single page overview of my skills and experience to facilitate any managerial review of my suitability for any given position, contract or project.

First and foremost, I am a communicator in the context of the presentation of Aboriginal perspectives to government bodies and agencies, conferences, meetings, groups, universities, schools, the media and the public..  Secondly, I am an author, writer, and editor with highly developed skills in the articulation of raw information, research data, or policy options, into forms and formats most suitable to client goals and needs.  Thirdly, I am a researcher and research manager with a particular talent for the development of consultation processes designed to identify and communicate Aboriginal perspectives on a wide range of subjects and issues.

Given these skills, it should be noted that they have been applied mainly, but not exclusively, in the areas of Aboriginal claims, Aboriginal self-government, and constitutional reform on Aboriginal issues as they relate to off-reserve Aboriginal peoples, primarily unregistered Indians and Métis.  In recent years I have developed considerable expertise in Aboriginal rights issues as they apply to Métis peoples in the pan-Canadian (as distinct from western) sense of the word.

The product of these skills and experience has been both diverse and prolific.  In addition to two published books and a dozen magazines, my output has included many major speeches and hundreds of press releases for Aboriginal leaders, policy analysis and briefing papers on Aboriginal legislation of both levels of government and several Aboriginal organizations, and national consultation reports on claims, self-government, Aboriginal language, archaeology, constitutional issues, and the Royal Commission on Aboriginal Peoples.  Many of these products were the results of national consultations developed for both government agencies and for Aboriginal organizations.

Most recently I have been involved in increasing a Canadian Aboriginal presence on the World Wide Web including The First Peoples' Circle on the National Capital FreeNet, The Other Métis at and as an Information Provider for the website of the Congress of Aboriginal Peoples.

I trust this general overview will be helpful in evaluating my usefulness to you.

Sincerely

Martin F. Dunn
